Morning!
Well,
it's back to work, back to work! I am excited! As I have said many
times before, and just gotta say it again . . . "I love my job,
and I love my BOSS"! I hope all of you can say the same!
You know what? I have been thinking about this "Labor Day" thing . .
. why do they call it "Labor Day", when they are letting people have
the day off? It seems to me that it should be called "Rest
Day", don't ya think? Anyway, I don't really understand the world's
way of thinking about a whole lot of things, not just this one! 
God's
Word has a lot to say about "labor" and about "rest" . . .
Let's look at some of what He has to say ~~~~~~~
First
of all, our "labor" for The Lord will always be fruitful
and blessed! It will never be in "vain" . . .
1Corinthians 15:58 and Hebrews 6:10 and many other scriptures. I
encourage you to look those up . . . you will be blessed.
Now,
for the scriptures concerning our "labor" for other
reasons . . . don't push that "delete" button just yet, you may get
a revelation that could be very beneficial to your spiritual growth
and prosperity! The word "prosperity" entails much more than
M-O-N-E-Y! Here is what God, Himself, says about laboring for
the wrong reasons:
Proverbs
23:4 says . . . "Labor not to be "rich", cease from your
own wisdom". This is talking about your "motives"
(it is not saying that you should not show up for work)! Then Jesus backs
this up in John 6:27 . . . in essence, Jesus is saying . . . don't just
be concerned about working to have perishable food on your table,
but put forth the same effort to come to "His table" and
receive the food that is everlasting! Oh! I can see that The Lord is
going somewhere with this message, and there is much more to be shared to
tie it all together, so stay with me on this . . . I believe you will be
glad that you did! No encouragement tomorrow, but I will see you
Thursday! I will be sharing about the "REST" that God has for
us, and that is not a "pun", it is about the R
& R kind of "rest" that is promised to us! You know what?
I just have to stop and "Praise" God for the leading of the Holy
Spirit! You will understand, as we go along with this!
