Morning!
Thank
you for your responses to the messages I sent last week....I am blessed
to know that I am not the only one that needs to hear this "Word"
from the Lord!
I
have been, and will continue, talking about how important "our"
words are, and the fact that we need to become "doers" of
God's Word and not just hearers only! So, even if you did your
"homework" and read the entire book of James....you might want to
refer back to it on a regular basis!
In fact, I encourage you to read it out loud....let yourself hear what it is
saying! Faith comes by "hearing the Word"....and victory
comes by "doing the Word"! It takes both of them
working together! Let me put it this way~~~You will never become a
"doer" of God's Word if you do not have "faith" in His
Word! It doesn't get any more "simple" than that!
Don't
try to "complicate" what God's Word tells you to do.
To borrow from a once "popular phrase".... JUST DO IT!
My example today is from 1Peter 5: 6 &
7. Verse 6 tells us what to do..."humble yourselves before
God". Verse 7 tells us how to do that....by "casting
all of your cares upon Him". Can you see that? It takes
"humility" to acknowlege to God that you cannot change your
situation, and that you need His help! God always rewards
"humility"! Notice that it says for YOU to
"humble" yourself....it does not say to wait for God to
"humble" you!
Don't let the "cares of this world
choke out the Word that God has sown into your heart" (Mark 4:19)....open
your mouth and say, "Lord, I cast all of my cares upon you,
because I know that you care for me. I choose to be care-free
today". When you do that, you are being a "doer of the Word,
and not just a hearer only"!
