Good
Morning!
In Tuesday's encouragement, we were talking about the fact that our
"attitude" is very important in every area of our life, and especially
in "keeping it simple", so that we can enjoy all the wonderful
blessings that The Lord has for us (we can read in 1Timothy 6:17), that God
"richly gives us all things for our enjoyment"! So many people
are not enjoying all of the blessings of God, because they are living
complicated lives, and this affects their "attitude".
I referred to Psalms 51:10, and I want to bring that up again.
In that scripture, David asked The Lord to "create in him a clean
heart, and to renew a "right spirit" within him." The word
"spirit" in this particular context, is not talking about our
"re-born spirit" that was created in the likeness and the image of God
and was made new when we accepted Jesus
as our Lord and Savior. It is
talking about having a "right" attitude. I will be bringing that out more and more as we go along, but
let's also look at the part about a "clean heart".
In order to keep anything clean and pure, we have to "filter" out all
impurities. Right? God gave us a clean and pure heart, but it is our
responsibility to keep it that way. Whatever
we allow to come into our hearts, and minds, will have an effect on our lives.
Everything that reaches our hearts and our minds has to come through our
eyes and our ears, and Jesus said that whatever is in our hearts and minds will
eventually come out our "mouths". (Matthew 12:34; out of the abundance
of the heart, the mouth speaks). This is really very
simple....."garbage in-----garbage out"!
I have given you a lot to think about, and even though you may have already
heard all of this, each one of us still need to be reminded from time to time
about the basic truths of
The Word of God. After all, it is the "basics" that we build
upon. That is what we are doing right now......we're working on a building (I
love that song!)...and we are learning how
to "keep it simple".
Have a Blessed Day!!
In His Love, Luanne
