I
Corinthians 13: 4 - 8 tells us exactly what "God's kind of Love"
is, and lets us know whether or not we are being obedient to His
"Love commandment"! Keep in mind, that this is not
an "option". We don't get to "pick and choose" what
part of God's Word we want to obey!
The
King James version of these verses uses the word "charity" (which is
literally translated "love")...you will find that out, if you
just take time to read Webster's definition of "charity". I really
encourage you to do that....you will be blessed!
Anyway,
that is the reason that I am going to use the Amplified Bible's version of
these verses...this is for those of you that do not have an Amplified
Bible~~~~
Love endures long and is patient and kind; love never is envious nor boils
over with jealousy; it is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display
itself haughtily.
It is not conceited---arrogant and inflated with pride; it is not rude
(unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly. Love (God's love in us) does not
insist on it's own
rights
or it's own way, it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or
resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it---pays no attention to a
suffered wrong.
It does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right
and truth prevail.
Love bears up under anything and everything that comes; is ever ready to
believe the best of every person; it's hopes are fadeless under all
circumstances and it endures everything (without weakening).
LOVE NEVER FAILS!
Tomorrow,
I am going to take these verses and put them into a simple
Q&A "check list" that you can print out and put on your
fridge or bathroom mirror or wherever you can see them everyday..... This
will help you know whether or not you are "walking in Love".
If you are wanting God to move in your life, then remember that
"faith" is the only thing that "moves" Him, and FAITH
WORKS BY LOVE!
