Psalms
91: 3-13 . . . continues ~~~~~~
I have grouped these
verses together because they talk about the Covenant of "Protection"
that is available to us. I love to share about this "Protection
Plan", because it is so real to me. When I started speaking these
"protection" promises out of my mouth (which I still do every day),
I have seen God's "faithfulness" to 'watch over His Word to
perform it' time and time again! Thank you, Jesus! He
truly is our GOOD SHEPHERD . . . and when we "acknowledge"
Him as our Shepherd, then we will have PROVISION, PROTECTION and
DIRECTION (Psalms 23:1). See how He ties all of His Covenant Word
together with different scriptures? He is so awesome, and so is His
Word! Think about this as we get into the next verse. Remember, to
read it from your Bible as I paraphrase it.
Verse 4 tells me that He
will cover me with His "pinions" (feathers), and under His wings I
can find refuge if I trust in Him. Isn't this "truth" brought
out in the actions of a Mother Hen? Whenever she thinks that her little
ones are in danger . . . she covers them with her "wings"! Oh!
How loving and caring our God is!! This verse continues to
tell me that His "truth and faithfulness" is a "shield and a
buckler" to me! Let me share with you what the Lord has shown me
about "shield and buckler". A "shield" is something
that they wore on their body to protect them . . . a
"buckler" is something that they wore on their arm or held in their
hand to defend them! Oh, this is so good! Can you see this?
His "truth", which is His WORD . . . and His
"faithfulness" to watch over His WORD to perform it, will not
only "protect" us . . . it will also "defend" us!
GLORY TO GOD! That is why it is so very important that we
"speak" God's WORD out of our mouth! If we just sit on
our "shield and buckler", then God has nothing to "watch
over to perform"! I will continue tomorrow ~~~~~
