T.O.D.A.Y.'S  ENCOURAGEMENT for Mar. 29, 2006

I am going to continue on in 1 Corinthians 13: 4 - 8, and we are talking about what LOVE (God's kind of Love) is and what it is not.  These verses also show us what LOVE does, and what it does not do!  We are still in verse 4 and have made some progress....right?  However, we still have a few more things to look at in this verse.  It tells us that Love is not "boastful or vainglorious".  I encourage you to look up the definitions of these two words, and you will find that they are pretty much "six of one and half-a-dozen of the other".....you know like "same-samey"!    If you do not have a clue to what those two "phrases" mean....then let me "re-phrase".  In other words, being boastful and vainglorious is an "ALL ABOUT ME" thing!  Let me share something with you.  Whenever I am tempted to let other people know what I have "accomplished", or what "good deeds" I have done for others....I am reminded of the day I got a revelation from reading Psalms 5:5 (Amplified Bible)! That scripture says that "boasters" cannot stand in the presence of God!  I don't know about you, but I do not want to do anything that would keep me from "coming boldly into the Throne Room of God to receive His mercy and grace to help in a time of need" (please read Hebrews 4:16).   If you don't have an Amplified Bible, then my suggestion to you is......get one!      Now, if you will scroll back up and read everything I have said about "boasting", then and only then can you answer the question honestly~~~~
