A WORD
IN DUE SEASON
At
the beginning of this year, many people started making their "New Year's
resolutions". I used to do that myself many years ago. I am
not even sure why I did that, except maybe for the fact that it was something
everyone else was doing. I never was able to "keep" those
resolutions for very long, certainly not for a whole year. I don't
know of anyone else that was able to keep all of their's either. I don't
even go there any more . . . I have found a better way to plan (not only my
year), but the rest of my life here on earth. I do it "one day
at a time"! However, I don't call it "making resolutions"
. . . I call it "making right choices". This is in line with
God's Word, because I can't find anything in the Bible that tells us to make
"New Year resolutions" once a year, but The Lord has plenty to
say about making "right choices every day (one
day at a time)!
How can we know if we are
making "right choices"? It is so simple!!! Just choose
to be in the "plan" that God has for you and your life
(Jeremiah 29:11) . . . choose to be on the "paths" that
God has prepared for you each day (He talks about those all through the Book
of Proverbs) . . . choose to be in His perfect "will" (Thy will be
done Oh Lord, not mine) . . . choose "blessings and "life",
instead of "curses and death" (Deuteronomy 30:19-20) . . . choose to
let The Lord have His "way" in your life, because HIS WAY IS PERFECT
(Psalms 18:30). The Lord gives us the freedom to "choose", but
He also gives us some "options" to pick from . . . you will
find them in YOUR Bible, not just in mine!
Joshua 24: 15 says,
"CHOOSE YOU, THIS DAY, WHOM YOU WILL SERVE" . . . and I
say, "AS FOR ME AND MY HOUSE, WE WILL SERVE THE LORD! I pray
that each and every one of you will say the same! In fact, I pray
that you will open your mouth, right now, and say . . . AS FOR ME AND MY
HOUSE, WE WILL SERVE THE LORD! We can have blessed assurance that
God will "honor" our choices, because we have a "covenant"
with HIM! See you tomorrow with more about making "choices"
instead of "resolutions"! ~~~~~~~
