Good Morning!
What will you be wearing
today? (text message: Ephesians 6:
11 - 18)
We have one more piece of "God's armor" to talk
about, and it is the only piece of the "armor" that is
OFFENSIVE . . . all of the other pieces are
DEFENSIVE! Our "belt, vest, shoes, hat and shield of
faith" are our continual DEFENSE against the devil's
"weapons", but the part of the "armor" that we are going
to talk about today, is OUR very own "weapon" against
the devil!! It is our "sword"!
Verse 17, in our text, says it is the "sword of
the Spirit, which is the WORD OF GOD"! This is one of
my favorite subjects to talk about, and I have been
teaching and preaching about this for a long time, and I
never grow tired of any opportunity that the Holy
Spirit gives me to talk about it some more! When we put
the "sword of The Spirit" in our mouths and speak it out
loud . . . there is no devil in hell that can stand
against it! However, we have to KNOW what The Word of
God says before we can SAY it! Oh!
Precious ones . . . I encourage you to spend time in the
written Word of God and find out what your "sword"
really is! That is what will enable you to know exactly
what to speak out of your mouth when the enemy comes
against you. No matter what the "situation" is, you
will know what God has to say about it, and that is when
you will be able to tell the devil . . . IT IS
WRITTEN! This is the "weapon" that Jesus used against
the devil when He was being tempted in the wilderness
(Matthew, chapter 4). Jesus did not just say to the
devil, "It is written" . . . He went on to tell him WHAT
was written! Well . . . then, you cannot tell
the devil what is written, if you do not KNOW "what is
written"! Are you getting this? I know that a lot of
you that are reading this Encouragement already know all
of this . . . however, all of us need to be reminded of
what an awesome and powerful "weapon" God has given us!
The "sword of The Spirit, which is the WORD OF GOD!
Now that we have found out what we are supposed
to "put on" and "take up" every day . . . I want to talk
about what verse 18 tells us to do while we are totally
equipped with His "armor". I will talk about this in my
next Encouragement, and we will see that everything God
gives us, is not only for ourselves, but for others
also! See you Friday ~~~~~~~
