Good Morning!
What will you be wearing
today? (text message:
Ephesians 6: 11 - 18)
I am going to try and finish up with the "armor
of God" this week, so let's look at the two things that
we are told to "pick up" in order to complete the
"armor". Those two things are . . . the "shield of
faith" and the "sword of the Spirit". Today, I am going
to talk about "shield", and I want to remind us what
verse 16 says about it >>>> "Lift up over all, the
covering shield of saving FAITH, upon which you can
quench ALL of the flaming missiles of the wicked
one". Think about what God's Word is telling us here .
. . He has made it "plain and simple" . . . "loud and
clear" that it does not matter how many "flaming
missiles", "fiery darts", or any other "weapon" that the
devil tries to launch against us . . . The "shield of
FAITH" that God has given us can "quench" them ALL! In
other words . . . the devil's weapons will not be able
to penetrate or be effective. In fact, they will only
"ricochet" and "boomerang" back on his own ugly head!!
I don't know about you, but that makes me shouting happy
to think about that happening! However, we must be sure
that we keep that "shield of FAITH" operating in our
lives. This is how we get the COVENANT promise from
God, that says . . . "NO WEAPON FORMED AGAINST YOU WILL
PROSPER"! We have to be sure that we are totally
"trusting in The Lord" at all times . . . that is what
FAITH is all about!
How can we be sure that we have the FAITH to
"quench" those weapons? 2 Corinthians 13:5 tells us "to
examine ourselves to see if we are in faith" . . . by
the way, it does NOT say to "examine others to see if they
are in faith".
Moving
right along . . . Faith comes by "hearing" the Word of
God and it comes a lot faster by "hearing ourselves"
speaking His Word out loud! That is where the "sword"
comes in and I will be talking about that in my next
Encouragement! I pray that at least one person is
getting something out of what The Holy Spirit is
teaching us about the "whole armor of God"! If so, then
I have done what The Lord has assigned me to do! I know
that I have personally been blessed by this teaching and
I can say that, because I am not the one that is doing
the "teaching" . . . The Holy Spirit is the "teacher"!
I am just the "messenger"!
