Good Morning!

Well, you still have a substitute for now.  Luanne is still healing.  When I talked to her she sounded better to me.  But she still can't type and really needs to keep her left hand elevated.  I will do my best in her absence.  Keep her in your prayers.

Luanne has been talking about the importance of CHOOSING the 'path' that God has planned for each of us.  Let's continue.

In Psalm 16:1 David begins the chapter by praying "Keep me safe, O God, for in You I take refuge."  And he ends the chapter at Psalm 16:11 by saying confidently, "You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy, at Your right hand there are pleasures forevermore."  David wasn't as concerned about where the path was going as he was about walking that path with God! He CHOSE to walk with God! In fact, I imagine he would have been pretty overwhelmed if he had known all the things that were along his path from the outset.

Psalm 119:105 says, "Your WORD* is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path".  The text notes in my study bible tell me that in biblical times people who traveled at night carried an oil lamp or a sheltered candle that shed just enough light to see where their next step would be.  The psalmist depended on the Word of God to direct his very next step.  When we choose to stay focused on His *WORD, we too will see where to put our foot for our next step.  There are all kinds of things that can trip us up when we are walking in the 'dark'.  There are unexpected obstacles that we can't see.  But God knows where all the obstacles are and staying in the center of His will is the safest place to be.  This is true regardless of where that path is going.

We probably won't get more direction from the Holy Spirit about our personal path than the next step or two at a time.  And that's really all we need.  We too might be overwhelmed if we knew all that was along our path.  All we really need to do is just keep walking, one step at a time.  If we CHOOSE to walk the path that God has planned for us it will be the path of life; and we too will experience fullness of joy in His presence!

Have a Blessed Day!!            (CHOOSE to stay on HIS path daily!)              In His Love, Luanne's Friend
