Morning! I
just came from the Archive page at the website. I looked back over the
first couple of encouragements that Luanne sent when she started this series of
encouragements on the importance of CHOOSING the path God has planned for us.
The encouragement she wrote on August 11th stressed the need to make this CHOICE
early in the day. She does it before her feet hit the floor. She
isn't the only one who makes her "declarations" early. David did
too. Psalm 5: 3 says, "My voice you shall HEAR in the morning, O
Lord; in the morning I will direct it to You, and I will look up." I
can almost see him; up at dawn with his face to the morning sky speaking these
words out loud! It sounds to me like he was making his daily CHOICE!
At
the end of this Psalm at verse 11 he says, "…Let those who love Your name
be joyful in You. For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous, with
favor you will surround him as with a shield." This time David
spent in the morning was as important to him as putting on our clothes and
brushing our teeth is to us. We wouldn't leave the house without doing
these things. David knew he NEEDED the favor that would surround him like
a shield. In the middle of the Psalm, he even asks the Lord to lead him
and "make Your way straight before my face". He didn't use
the language Luanne would use, but it still sounds like he was choosing a path
for the day. Judith
