Morning!
We are still
"gleaning" the Truth from 1 Corinthians 13:4-8, and we finished up
verse 5 yesterday. So, Iet's go on to verse 6 (which is the shortest of
all the verses) and may not take us as long to go through as the others.
The whole purpose of this
in-depth study on 1 Corinthians 13:4-8, has been to give us insight into God's
kind of LOVE compared to the "world's" kind of love. Each and
every one of these verses tell us what Love is and what it is not,
and what Love does and what it does not do! How hard is
that to understand? Don't you just love the "simplicity" of
God's Word?!!
Okay! Okay! I am
going to verse 6 now, I just have to get my "preach" time in!
Verse 6 tells us that LOVE
does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but it does rejoice when
right and truth prevail. It is very sad (but true) that there
are so many people who watch the news and see minorities being
mistreated or suffering from hunger and torment, and say (or think) . . .
"they are getting what they deserve". What is really sad, is
the fact that some of these people that have this kind of attitude are
professing to be "Christians"! You know what?
I praise God that I am not going to "get what I deserve"!
Without the cleansing blood of Jesus in my life . . . I do not deserve
anything but "Hell"! However, I am not going to get what I
deserve and it is only because of the "MERCY OF GOD"! When I
accepted Jesus as my Savior and my Lord, His "blood" blotted
out my ticket to Hell! Then His "mercy" gave me a new
"flight schedule"...Oh! I am getting excited now! It
seems to me I heard a song one time called "ticket to ride"....well,
that is what the blood, mercy and love of Jesus purchased for me.....a
"ticket to ride with Jesus when He comes back for us"!
Remember the
"mercy" that God has shown toward you...it will help you to be more
"merciful" to others!
I am not going to give you
the Q & A on this one . . . . . enough said!
