Good Morning!

I will continue to "chew" on Psalms 23:1...."The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want". I know that this is a very "familiar" verse of scripture to all of you.  However, we have a tendency to just scan over a verse that we have read before, because we think we already know what it says.  I want to encourage you to not "think" that way!  Just because we know what a verse of scripture says, does not mean that we know everything that the Holy Spirit wants to "reveal" to us about what it says!

Today, I want to "focus" on the word SHEPHERD.  I am going to list some of the attributes (character) of an "earthly" shepherd, and I want you to think about how they relate to our "heavenly" Shepherd, Jesus (who is your Shepherd)!

A shepherd (who has been called by God to be a shepherd), will be make sure that  his "sheep" have PROVISION, PROTECTION, AND DIRECTION.  He is willing to "face death" to bring this to pass.  He will seek for the "ones who have strayed away" and the ones that are "lost".  If one of them are "wounded" or "sick", he will pick them up in his arms and carry them!  He does not see his flock as just being a "bunch of sheep", but cares about each "individual" one!  Oh! I pray that you are getting a "revelation" about this!

Our "heavenly" Shepherd, Jesus, has already done all of this for us and continues to do it for us!  I thank Him every morning for being my "Shepherd", and for being the Shepherd of my "household"!  I open my mouth and thank Him that all of my children and grandchildren "hear" His voice and "follow Him" (John 10:27).

I encourage you to read the 10th chapter of John...there is a difference between a "hired" shepherd (Pastor), and a "called" shepherd (Pastor)...I am saying this by the leading of the Holy Spirit....it must be for someone that is reading this!

Tomorrow, I will expound on the last part of this verse of scripture~~~~~~~

Have a Blessed Day!!        (Keep "chewing" on His Word!)     In His Love, Luanne
