Good Morning!
Our
scripture verse today is Psalms 23:1......"The Lord is my shepherd, I
shall not want". I am going to share with you how the Holy Spirit
taught me to read God's Word in order to "retain" it, not just
"memorize" it. Then it becomes more than just "head
knowledge"....it will become "revelation knowledge", which is
what we need in order to be able to apply it to our personal lives.
First
of all, He told me to read out loud, because
"faith comes by hearing the Word of God" (Romans 10:17).
Then He taught me to read the verse over and over again, and to
"accent" a different word each time I read it. This is not
"complicated", it is really very "simple"......let me show
you what I am talking about~~~~~
I
read "The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want". Then I go
back and say it this way: "The LORD is my shepherd, I
shall not want". That lets me know that He is the one that I
should be "following". Then I say..."The Lord IS
my shepherd, I shall not want". This puts it in the
"present" tense, not something that He is going to be, or would like
to be, but He IS right now! (Psalms 46:1 says that He is a very present
help in trouble)! Oh! I am getting excited just typing
this! However, I need to get back to the message.
Ok!
Then I say..."The Lord is MY shepherd, I shall not
want". This makes it very "personal" to me...not
only is He the "Good Shepherd" of the entire flock, but He
also cares about me as an individual! You ought to be
getting "excited" by now!
Remember....He
is talking to you in this verse too! Then I say..."The Lord
is my SHEPHERD, I shall not want". I am going to stop here,
because there is so much to be said about the word "Shepherd".
Stay with me, it gets better and better!
See you tomorrow~~~~~~
Have
a Blessed Day!! ("Chew on God's
Word") In His
Love, Luanne
