Morning!
Walking
in love (God's kind of love), is not an "option"...it is a
"commandment" from The Lord. God will never command us to do
something that He has not equipped us to do. Romans 5:5 tells us that
the Holy Spirit has already "placed" this love in our hearts, so we
have the "equipment"...what are we going to do with it?
1Corinthians
13: 4-8 is not a "pick and choose menu"....it is a
check-list that tells us exactly what to do and what not to do in order
to keep His commandment. Here is how we can tell whether or not we
are really walking in LOVE~~~~~
Everywhere
you see the word "love" (the King James version uses
"charity"), put your name there and read it out loud....it
won't be long before you find out if you need to make some
"adjustments" in your love walk!
I
will use myself to show you what I am talking about.....I read verse 4 like
this~~~
Luanne endures
long and is patient and kind, Luanne is never envious or jealous;
Luanne
is not boastful...etc. etc. Then I stop and think about what I have
just said, and that is how I find out whether or not I am really keeping the
commandment that Jesus gave to me. The Lord gave us this
commandment to "benefit" us, not Him!
Obeying
God's Word is the only way to keep our lives "simple", thus eliminating
stress, confusion, discouragement, strife, failure, guilt and the
list goes on~~~~
Friday,
we walked through verse 4 of 1Corinthians....tomorrow we will walk
through verse 5. I believe that we are going to receive some
"life-changing" revelations!
