Morning!
I
have some good news! (actually, I have a lot of good news because I
am going to be sharing the Word of God and that is GOOD NEWS)! Anyway,
just wanted to let all of you know that the "archive page" on our
website has been updated, so if you have missed an encouragement, or just want
to catch up with what we have been talking about recently....everything is
"current" now. You can print them out, or send them to your
email address to keep in your files.
Now,
back to 1Corinthians 13:4-8.....I am going to use the Amplified
Bible's version of these scriptures. The King James version uses the word
"charity" (but the literal translation of that word, is
"love"). As I have said before, these scriptures should be your
"check list" to see if you are walking in the "love"
commandment that Jesus gave us~~~~~~~~~
verse 4...Love endures long and is patient
and kind; love never is envious nor boils over with jealousy; it is not
boastful or vainglorius, does not dispay itself haughtily.
Here are the Stop signs contained in this
verse~~~~~
1. STOP expecting God and everyone
else to "hop to it", and do what you want them to do, when you
want them to do it! (endurance builds "character)
2. STOP being impatient...don't get in
such an "all fired hurry" that you can't take time to "listen"...
not only to what others have to say, but, more importantly to hear what God
has to say!
3. STOP being "unkind"....treat
others the way that you want them to treat you!
4. STOP being envious and
jealous.....there is no need for you to want what someone else has! God
has just what you need!
5. STOP "boasting" about what
you do have! Without Him, you don't have anything,
you don't know anything, and you
cannot do anything!
6. STOP allowing a "haughty"
spirit to come upon you, don't ever let Satan put the thought in
your mind that you are better than someone else...when you have the tendency
to "judge" others, remember where you were when God reached down
with His love, mercy and forgiveness, and lifted you up!
Don't come under
"condemnation".... stay teachable and remember that these are just
STOP signs, to keep us out of "harm's way"! Don't try to complicate
the simple message of God's love! I will expound on the other
verses next week~~~~
