T.O.D.A.Y.'S ENCOURAGEMENT for Sept. 21, 2007

I have been sharing from
the 4th chapter of Philippians, and talking about how to allow the Peace of
God to put a guard over our hearts and minds by helping us to "take our
thoughts captive to the obedience of Jesus". I encourage you to
refer back to the previous Encouragements, because I am not able to put
everything that I want to share in one Encouragement . . . it would make them
too long and The Lord has always instructed me to keep these "short"
so that people can "retain" the message. Therefore, I want us
to look at verse 8 of that chapter ~~~~ this is one of the ways that we can
"take our thoughts captive".
In this verse we are
instructed to STOP thinking on things that cause us to worry, or be
anxious, or be fretful and START thinking on these things:
Whatever is true . . . worthy of reverence . . . honorable. Whatever is just
. . . pure . . . lovely . . . kind . . . gracious. Whatever has virtue
and excellence and is worthy of Praise! There was a time in my life that
I wanted to be a "doer" of the Word, and so I tried to think about
different things that would be relative to all of these things.
Then one day, it "dawned" on me! I can "take my
thoughts captive" and have the Peace of God and all I have to do is just
STOP thinking about the bad things and simply START thinking about JESUS!
Oh! Do you get it?
Jesus is TRUE, He is
WORTHY OF REVERENCE, He is HONORABLE, JUST, PURE, LOVELY, KIND and
GRACIOUS, He has VIRTUE and EXCELLENCE, and . . . HE IS WORTHY OF
PRAISE! Oh, precious ones, The Holy Spirit makes God's Word and
instructions so "simple"! Let me share with you from
Isaiah 26:3 ~~~~ In that scripture the Lord tells us that He will keep us
in perfect peace if our minds are stayed upon Him!! Glory to God!!!
My spirit is "soaring"! I "stand in awe" of Him!

& 4 . . . you will be blessed!
