Good
Morning!
For those of you that forgot to do the homework assignment that I gave you
yesterday, this is what Hebrews 10: 35 & 36 says... "Cast not away
therefore your confidence, which has great recompense of reward... For you have need of patience, that, after
having done the will of God, you will receive the promise."
Simply stated, this is telling us not to lose our confidence in God and His
promises, while we are waiting for the answer.
Then it tells us that we need to exercise patience, and I want to talk
about that! I don't know where we came up with the idea that to be patient
meant that we had to "grit our teeth, clamp our mouths shut, and just
suffer it out somehow".
That is not the scriptural definition of "patience".
Actually, to be patient, is to be "persistent" and
"consistent". I like to put it in this perspective; Jesus expressed
His patience with us by saying that He was "the SAME.. yesterday, today and
forever"!
In Friday's Encouragement, I shared one of my songs with you about... not
getting "discouraged" while you are waiting for the answer to your
prayers, and I encouraged all of you to read 1John 5: 14 & 15.
I believe that we need to be reminded of this wonderful promise from The
Lord: "This is the confidence and assurance and boldness that we have
in Him; we can be sure that if we ask anything according to His will and in
agreement with His plan, He hears us and listens to us......and if we
"know" that He listens to us, then we have our requests granted to
us." I don't know about you,
but that is "GOOD NEWS" to me!!!!!
Have a Blessed Day!!
In His Love Luanne
We welcome your comments and prayer requests.
