T.O.D.A.Y.'S ENCOURAGEMENT for Oct. 06, 2008

In
my last Encouragement, I shared about how The Holy Spirit began to share
with me about our "spiritual wardrobe". He reminded me of
how often The Lord tells us, (in His Written Word), to "put
on" certain things, and to "clothe" ourselves with
certain things. I was in awe! I was familiar with all of the
things that He reminded me of that morning, but I just never had
thought about the fact that God has a "spiritual wardrobe" for His
people!! The Holy Spirit just "opened" up a brand new
revelation to me, simply because of the way that He revealed all of this to
me! As all of you know, it is sometimes difficult to explain to others
what The Lord reveals to us by The Spirit . . . However, I am going to
"try" to do this because I know that you will be blessed!
I
want to talk to you about our "spiritual wardrobe"! For
some of you, this may seem like "old hat", (no pun intended) . . .
but I am going to share it anyway! And I am going to do it like Jesus
did it, and I am referring to the fact that Jesus always used the
"natural" to explain the "spiritual"! Are you
ready for this?
In
the "natural", we have things in our closet that we choose to wear
according to what the "occasion" happens to be. In other
words . . . if we are going out to dinner, we don't put on what we would
wear to the beach! If we are going to bed for the night, we don't put
on our "jogging attire" and if a soldier is going out to the
"front lines" of the battle, they don't put on their
"fatigues"! God has given us "spiritual garments"
for all different occasions, and He even tells us when we need to
"put them on"! Today, I am going to list just some of these
"garments" that are in our "spiritual closet" and then
expound on them in my upcoming Encouragements. I know that a lot of
you will be very familiar with some of them, but you also may need to be
reminded that you have some that you haven't "put on" in a while!
Isn't that the way even with our "natural" clothes?
For
starters . . . here are some of the things that are hanging in our
"spiritual closet" ~~~~ we have a "garment of Praise" .
. . we have a "robe of Righteousness" . . . we have the
"armor of God (with all of the co-ordinating "accessories"),
and many MORE things that God, Himself has "designed and even
fashioned" and are "tailor made" to fit us! Wow!
Who needs Oscar de la Renta?! (just having fun with you)!
