Morning!
We
have been talking about how to keep our prayer life
"simple".....your prayers do not have to be "complicated in
order to be effective"! Think about it this way....The Lord hears
the prayers of little children, right? Well, if you have ever heard a
child pray, did you notice that they do not try to "impress" God
with their prayers. They just let Him know what they need Him to do, and
then they trust Him to do it!
Philippians 4:6 says...."do not be anxious about
anything, but in every situation, with prayer and thanksgiving, let
your requests be made known to God.... and then the peace of God that
passes all understanding will guard your hearts and minds."
Once you have prayed a prayer of "petition"
(asking God for something), then begin to let your prayer about that
situation become a prayer of "thanksgiving"! Instead of
continuing to "ask" Him to take care of it......just
"thank" Him for doing what He has promised to do! That is how we
obey what Jesus said for us to do......"come as little children"
(Matthew 18:3 & 4), and that is how we can have the "peace of God
that passes all understanding"! The Lord has shown us in His
"Word", how to keep our prayer life simple. Why not just do it
"His way"? After all, His way is "perfect"..(Psalms
18:30). Can I get an "Amen"?
