Good Morning!

Back to Proverbs 3: 5&6....The Lord gives us three simple instructions in these verses, and all we have to do is just "choose" to do what He tells us to do (that is what it means to be a "doer of the Word, and not just a hearer only").  James 1: 23-25 says that if we are not doers of the Word, then we will be "deceived"...but, if we are doers of the Word, then we will be "blessed".  That should not be a difficult "choice" for anybody!

I already talked about instruction # 1 which tells us to put our trust in God, and I got started on instruction # 2 which tells us not to lean on our own understanding.  I love the "simplicity" of God's Word!  Think about it....the word "trust" means to lean on, or depend on.  Are you with me?  To trust in, and to lean on is the same thing. So, we can read those instructions like this~~~~~Lean on the Lord, and do not put your trust in what your mind is telling you!   I want to share something with you that has really helped me to do this~~~~~Many years ago, my son "redeemed" a dog from the animal shelter (back then, we called it the "pound"). He was a Saint Bernard and you know how big and heavy they are.  My husband, Jack, was with my son when they got him. I don't know if all of you know this, but animals that have been "redeemed" are very grateful and loyal!  I sure hope you all can "read between the lines"!

Anyway, whenever Adolph (the dog) would see Jack or Donny, he would come up to them and "lean" over on them (sure am glad it wasn't me that he was leaning on, I would not have been able to hold me or him up)!     This was his way of letting them know that he "trusted" them and felt safe with them!  So, I remember that when my "thoughts" are trying to keep me from trusting in The Lord.  Let me tell you what I do (this may sound silly to you), but I "literally and physically" with child-like faith, stop and lean over on Him!  When I do that, then I feel safe and secure, and "peace" comes.     Try it.....it works!

Jesus has "redeemed" us from death and hell....the least we can do to show our gratitude and loyalty, is to LEAN HEAVY ON HIM!

Have a Blessed Day!!           (Lean over on The Lord!)          In His Love, Luanne
