T.O.D.A.Y.'S ENCOURAGEMENT for May 08, 2003

Good Morning!

This week, I have been referring to Mark, chapter 4, and have been encouraging you to read these scriptures.  Our focus has been on the "parable of the sower".  Jesus had a reason for wanting us to understand verses 13 through 32, (that is where He "explained" the parable).... go on and read the rest of that chapter, and you will see "what His reason was"!

Look at verse 15, it says that the enemy (Satan) comes to steal the "word" out of our hearts, and then Jesus lists some of the things that the enemy uses to steal that "word" (take time to read that "list").

Why does Satan want to "steal" the word from us?  Because, it is the "word of God" that brings "faith", and without "faith" we cannot receive anything from God (read Romans 10:17 and James 1:6 & 7).  Now, go back and see what happened to the disciples when they let the "storm" steal the "word" that Jesus had just "spoken" to them.... and the only thing Jesus said to
them was "why are you so fearful?  Where is your "faith?"

I encourage you, today, to "trust" the "word" that The Lord has "sown" into your hearts and I will continue this tomorrow.........
