T.O.D.A.Y.’S ENCOURAGEMENT for May 9th, 2002

T.O.D.A.Y. Ministries

Good Morning!

If I put a title on today's encouragement, it would have to be..."Just Say No".  Since I started this new assignment that The Lord gave me, (to go on-line and encourage as many people as I could reach on a daily basis), my heart's desire has been to help each and every person realize how important it is to "simplify" our lives.

The reason that I want to do this, is because it was actually "life-changing" for me when God revealed it to me.  I have personally experienced the elimination of so much stress, anxiety, fear and confusion by applying the "simple is good" principal to every area
of my life!

We have already talked about some of ways that we can do this, and today, I want us to look at another situation that all of us have allowed ourselves to be caught up in.... and that is, trying to do everything that other people want us to do.

When we over-commit ourselves, without praying about it first, it will always cause problems!  Remember this, "it is not WHAT we do but Why we do it, that is important to God.

Proverbs 29:25 says "the fear of man brings a snare, but those who trust in the Lord will be safe".  When we try to please other people, by doing what they want us to do, because we are afraid that they will be mad at us or not like us, then we are in big trouble!  Am I
saying that you should never do things to bless someone else?  NO, I am not saying that. But, remember, it is not WHAT we do...it is WHY we do it.  So then, we should never, I repeat NEVER be motivated by fear.  "Love" should be our motivation for everything
that we do.

I encourage you today to pray and seek God before you make a commitment to anyone.  Acts 5:29  "We ought to obey God rather than men".  All of this has to do with "Priorities", which we will talk about later.

Have a Blessed Day!!                            In His Love,  Luanne
We welcome your comments and prayer requests.
