T.O.D.A.Y.’S ENCOURAGEMENT for May 7th, 2002

Good Morning!

Most people receive invitations from time to time.  Many times we are invited to birthday parties, weddings, showers, graduations, dinner parties, etc.  However, I believe the following is "The" most beautiful and wonderful invitation that anyone could ever receive!

Jesus said, "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and over burdened, and I will cause you to rest.... I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.  Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest.... relief, ease and refreshment and recreation and blessed quite.... for your souls.  For My yoke is wholesome (useful, good).... not harsh, hard, sharp or pressing, but comfortable, gracious and pleasant; and My burden is light and easy to bear. (Matthew 11:28,29,30 Amplified Bible).

I believe that Jesus is extending this invitation, not only to those who have not accepted Him as Lord and Saviour, but also to the ones who have.  Too many Christians become "weary" (in well doing)…Galatians 6:9.  They are sometimes "burdened"  (with the cares of this world)...Mark 4:19.  So that is when we need to "come to Him" so that He can "give us rest and relief".

I have so much to share about "yokes", especially about the one He has for us, so be looking for tomorrow's  "Encouragement".  I believe The Lord will give us some insight and understanding into this that will help us enter into the "Rest" that He has for us!
