T.O.D.A.Y.'S ENCOURAGEMENT for July 15, 2008

God's
COVENANT promise for today is found in Proverbs 3:3-4 (Amplified
Bible)>> In that scripture He promises us that we will find
"favor AND high esteem" with God and man, IF
we will always be "merciful, kind and truthful"!
I
started this message last week and I talked about how the COVENANT promises
are "available" to anyone who has accepted Jesus as their Lord
and Savior. I also talked about the fact that these promises have
"conditions". The Lord, in His "wisdom and love",
placed them there for our own protection, not because He wanted to make it
hard for us to have the blessings!! In
the message that I sent out last week, I talked about the
"condition" of being merciful, and I gave you a "check-list"
to go by. Today, I am going to talk about the "condition" of
being truthful.
I
am surprised by how many Christians think that it is okay if they "bend
the truth" a little, or just "imply" something that is not
exactly true. Most of the time, when they do that, it is because they
think it will be to their advantage! They don't really think about a
"little white lie" as being the same thing as really being
a "liar"! However, to God . . . there is no such thing as a
"little white lie" taking the place of the "truth, the whole
truth and nothing but the truth"! It is better to "risk"
not getting what you think that telling the truth would "keep" you
from getting, than to sacrifice the blessings that God has for you! This
is simple, people! God CANNOT bless a lie! I don't know about you
. . . but I would rather have the "favor and blessing" of God on my
life, than anything else in this world!!! Jesus says that the devil
is a "liar" AND the "father of all lies"! When I got
a revelation of that . . . it pierced my heart! In other words, it
put the "reverential fear of God" in my heart! I refuse
to do anything that would allow the devil to even "temporarily" take
the place of my Heavenly Father!
To
sum this up ~~~~~ We don't have to worry about that happening as long as we
make "mercy and truth" our lifestyle! Plus, we get all of
those extra "benefits" of finding FAVOR with God and other
people! Remember, no Encouragement tomorrow . . . I shall return on
Thursday with more of the COVENANT promises of God (and yes, I will also
include the "conditions"). Aren't you glad?
