Morning!
I want to continue talking about things
that can hinder us from keeping the "Love Commandment" that Jesus
gave us. As I have said before...1Corinthians 13:4-8 is our "check
list" that lets us know whether or not we are "obeying" what
The Lord told us to do! Before I go any further, let me say
this~~~~Whenever God tells us to do something, it is for our own good!
He always has our best interest in mind! He does not put
"restrictions" on us to keep us from enjoying our lives....in fact,
it is just the opposite! He wants to show us how we can keep His
blessings flowing to us!
God is so "real" and
practical.....He never tells us what to do, without telling us why
we need to do it and how to do it! He makes everything so
"simple" for us.....we are the ones that try to
"complicate" His simple instructions!
OK! Having said all that, I am going
to go back to the instructions that He gives us in verse 5 of 1Corinthians 13.
In that verse He tells us not to be "fretful" (do you remember?),
and I have expounded on two of the definitions of fretful. I
talked about being "irritated", and about being "worried".
Now, I want to talk about one of the other definitions.....being
"discontented".
Many people cannot be
"content" until certain situations change, and so they are waiting
and waiting for everything to be like they want them to be so that
"then" they can be content! Trust me.....that can be
"hazardous to your health"! I will explain "why" in
tomorrow's encouragement~~~~~
