T.O.D.A.Y.’S ENCOURAGEMENT for July 2nd, 2002

T.O.D.A.Y. Ministries

Good Morning!

Yesterday, we talked about the two-fold principal that The Lord gave us in order to have favor with Him and with people.  That is to be merciful and truthful (Proverbs 3:3&4), and we saw the importance of telling the truth even if it looked like it might be to our disadvantage.  Today, we are going to talk about the "mercy" side of this principal.

All of us have a desire for mercy to be shown to us.  We want God to be merciful to us, we want people to be merciful, kind, patient, and understanding.  Well..."Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy."

When we are critical, judgmental, resentful, bitter, impatient, and unforgiving, we not only stop the flow of "favor" in our lives, but this is also hazardous to our health and well-being.  It will steal our peace, our joy, our faith and our spiritual growth.

Think about it!  Is it really worth it to "nurse your wounds" and "satisfy your flesh"?  Or be obedient to God's Word and enjoy having the favor of God on your life?  I think I know what your answer will be.  That is what I decided to do and it has made a tremendous difference in my life.  I might add...I still have to make that same decision every day!

Praise God for 1John 1:9...we can mess up, repent, and then receive forgiveness and start all over again!  May the favor of God be with you all!

Have a Blessed Day!!                     In His Love,        Luanne
We welcome your comments and prayer requests.
