A WORD IN DUE SEASON

In yesterday's Encouragement, The Lord had us start a "to do list" of things that we can CHOOSE to do in this year of "new beginnings"!  The reason I used the word "start", is because He is going to be adding other "choices" to this list as we continue on with His WORD IN DUE SEASON!

I am going to put that list back up, just so we can stay "focused" as I talk about #2 and #3.

#1.  I choose to "keep my life simple"!

#2.  I choose to "keep my heart pure"!

#3.  I choose to "keep my mind stayed upon YOU, Lord!

The Lord has already given us instructions on how to do #1 . . . so I will move on to #2.  It is one thing to say that you "choose" to keep your heart pure, but how can you really make that "choice" if you don't know what you need to do in order to "keep your heart pure"?  Well, The Lord has already answered that question in my previous encouragements . . . get rid of the "clutter" that continues to "accumulate" in your heart!  Webster's definition of to accumulate . . . is to "pile up or collect over a period of time".  God's definition of that kind of "clutter" that we allow to accumulate in our heart is a combination of the following things ~~~~ bitterness, unforgiveness, resentment, hatred, malice, haughtiness, pride, greed, avarice, a critical and judgmental attitude and the list goes on!  You can find them in your Bible!  You may not have ALL of these things in your heart, but if you have ANY of them in your heart, then your heart is not "pure"!  How do you get rid of whatever might be "cluttering" up your heart? . . . ASK God to "show" you what you have in your heart . . . and then ASK Him to help you get rid of it!  I promise you that if you will ASK Him to do both of these things, He WILL honor your "request"!  Once you know what you need to DO to "keep your heart pure", then it will be easy for you to "choose" to do this!   I will take up #3 in my next Encouragement.  Hope to see you Monday!
