Good morning!
On Monday, I left you with the puzzle that all of
the writers on the T.O.D.A.Y. Ministries staff, had
used similar scriptures as they prepared their
writings without knowing what the other writers were
planning to write about. That should be a beacon
light that we are all hearing from the same Holy
Spirit and being obedient to that Spirit.
Romans 15:5 - 6 tells says in the Amplified Bible,
"Now may the God Who gives the power of patient
endurance (steadfastness) and Who supplies
encouragement, grant you to live in such mutual
harmony and such full sympathy with one another, in
accord with Christ Jesus (the Messiah). That
together you may [unanimously] with united hearts
and one voice, praise and glorify the God and Father
of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah)." This is
what happens when you achieve such a level of unity
and purpose.
It's not a coincidence at all that we all used
similar scriptures. We are all of one accord, so
the Holy Spirit dictates and we just type.
Are you listening to what He is saying? Remember
the Love Commandment!
If we focus on loving God and the people we come
into contact with, we do not have to worry
that we will somehow fail to measure up in other
ways. People who love God and care about one
another don't have a problem with the rest of the
Ten Commandments or other moral laws. Obeying them
comes naturally - even today while we are under
Grace and not the Law. It is a positive way of
viewing the Ten Commandments, instead of worrying
about all of the "thou shalt not's…"
As Luanne would say, God makes it so simple for us.
We are the ones who complicate things.
Before Jesus came, it was quite a bit more
complicated to obey all of God's Laws. Even reading
in the Bible about those laws in the Old Testament
can be an exercise that leads to furrowed brows. We
will look into those laws on Friday.
