Good morning from T.O.D.A.Y. Ministries!
Today you are hearing from Luanne's personal
assistant, Karen. It seems The Lord wants to
stretch me a little beyond my usual and customary
boundaries, so He has assigned me to give you a
message for today.
I know Luanne has been teaching OBEY, BELIEVE, and
RECEIVE, and I'd like to focus on BELIEVE.
Sometimes we've done all we know to do, and we don't
have a specific instruction or Word from God about
our specific circumstance. I've often heard it said
that we should obey God when we hear from Him, and
trust Him when we don't.
I'd like for you to read through the story of Jairus
in Mark 5:22 - 42 and also Luke 8:41 - 56. Jairus
was a leader in the synagogue and his only daughter
was dying. He went to Jesus to ask Him to go lay
hands on her that she would be healed. He
believed. Then, Jesus was interrupted when the
woman with the issue of blood for twelve years
pressed through the crowd to touch the hem of his
garment, and she was healed. She believed.
In fact, Jesus told her that her faith (believing)
had made her whole. Then some people from Jairus's
house came and told him not to bother Jesus any more
because his daughter was dead. Jesus said to
Jairus, "Fear not, only believe". Then Jesus
went to Jairus's house, cleared out all the
unbelievers, and raised the little girl from the
dead!
Sometimes when storms are raging and things are
happening all around us, we just have to believe
that God loves us (read John 17) and trust in Him
with all our hearts (Proverbs 3:5-6). I'm sure
you've heard it said that when you come to the end
of your rope you should tie a knot in it and hang on
for dear life. I'd like to suggest that the rope is
Jesus, and the knot is to believe. I say to
those of you who today are facing
circumstances you don't understand, or you're just
not sure what to do, "Fear not, only believe"!
