Good
Morning!
I will continue talking
about the "cycle" that will keep you in depression
indefinitely if you do not know how to break the "cycle". That
is why I am sharing this part of my personal testimony. You can STOP it
before it starts!
Yesterday
I talked about the dangers of "self-condemnation" and how if
you continue to come down on yourself and feel bad about yourself,
you will eventually begin to feel sorry for yourself, and
"self-pity" just puts you one step closer to "depression".
I know what I am talking about! If you will take time to think
about it, each area of this "cycle" is designed by the devil to cause
you to turn "inward" and to be always thinking about
YOURSELF! If all we have on our minds is our own "self" .
. . THAT (in itself) is DEPRESSING!
It
all starts with "thoughts"! You hear it in your mind first . .
. like " well, that was a dumb thing you just did" . . . or,
"you are so stupid" . . . or, "you are too fat or too skinny or
too ugly or too guilty, etc." You might even start thinking that it is your
fault that something bad happened to someone else. You might think
. . . "I didn't pray enough" . . . or "maybe if I had done
something different". You could probably come up
with some more critical remarks against yourself that I haven't listed,
but the point is this ~~~~~~~~ If you continue to "think" like this,
then eventually it will come out of your mouth, and that is what keeps
the "cycle" moving on to "self-pity"!
Obviously,
today The Lord just wanted me to let someone know how to "prevent"
depression from coming into their lives, and how to break the
"cycle" before it gets to that point. No one took time to give ME
this kind of information, so I will be sharing with you what happened to me
because I did not know what I just shared with you until AFTER Jesus
"brought me up out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set
my feet upon THE ROCK, and established me" (Psalms 40:2). I
want to encourage you to read that whole "chapter" . . . you will be
blessed!
