Morning!
Last week, we talked about ways that we can communicate with The Lord by using
the different avenues of "prayer".
Today, we are going to look at each of these avenues and
see how we can keep our prayer life "simplified", by using the
following steps: (remember, these are just "steps", not
"formulas"!)
Once you have prayed a prayer of "petition", where you ask God to do
something according to His Will (1John 5:14-15), then the next step is to follow
up that prayer with the prayer of "thanksgiving".
Begin to thank Him for what you have asked for, even before you see the
answer...and continue to thank Him for it until you do have the answer. The next
step, while you are waiting, is to pray for someone else
("intercession"). This
will take your focus off of you and your situation, and will allow the Love of
God to flow from you to others ["love never fails"....it guarantees
your success]. The next step, is
really one that should be included and incorporated throughout all the other
"steps", and that is the prayer of "submission", letting The
Lord know that you only want His Will and His Plan to be done.
This is the way that Jesus prayed (Matthew 26:39).
Then, you can enter in to His rest by offering up Praise and
Worship...........PRAISE HIM AND WORSHIP HIM FOR WHO HE IS, NOT FOR WHAT HE
CAN DO FOR YOU!!!!!!!!
This is so "simple" and yet so "powerful", and there are
many scriptures in The Word that will be confirmation to you about this.
So I encourage you today, to read the Word for yourself and begin to enjoy your
"prayer life"! It is such a privilege to be able to
"talk" to our Heavenly Father openly and boldly, without a sense of
guilt, condemnation or "unworthiness".
