T.O.D.A.Y.'S ENCOURAGEMENT for Aug. 27, 2008
T.O.D.A.Y.
Ministries
14745 Merrilltown #1611 Austin TX 78728 Good Morning! This
message comes to you from another substitute.
I am Karen Schuck, Administrator for T.O.D.A.Y.
Ministries. That’s a big
title, which simply means that I try to help Luanne with whatever she needs
help with, in whatever way I can. She
has been my “spiritual mother”, “mentor”, and “second mom” (my own
mother passed away in March 2001, shortly before Luanne invited me to the
first meeting in her home on September 25, 2001).
Joshua had Moses, Samuel had Eli, Elisha had Elijah, the Disciples had
Jesus, and I have Luanne. She has
been a tremendous blessing in my life and I cannot begin to tell you all the
ways my life has changed because of all that she has “invested” in me.
My
sisters in The Lord, Judith and Luanne, have given us some wonderful
teaching on choosing the right paths for "ourselves" each day.
I would like for us to think about the paths of ''others" today.
I am quite sure that almost everyone reading this message has someone
in their family who is not making good choices or is not on the right
path. I have had many people
ask me about praying for a lost loved one when we know that they have the
free will to choose their own path. However,
whether it’s a wayward child, a brother or sister, a spouse, or any other
member of your family, I want to remind you today of what Luanne has been so
diligent to teach us. You have
a COVENANT with God and He is “ever mindful” of that covenant
(Psalm 111:5).
The
important thing is to know what the covenant is by reading and searching the
scriptures until you find the one that just seems to leap off the pages of
your Bible. That will be a
“Rhema” word to you from The Lord.
“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any
two-edged sword” (Hebrews 4:12). The
word that God gave me for one of my loved ones was Jeremiah 32:39-40 –
“And I will give them one heart and one way, that they may [reverently]
fear Me forever for the good of themselves and of their children after them.
And I will make an everlasting covenant with them; I will not turn
away from following them to do them good and I will put My [reverential]
fear in their hearts, so that they will not depart from Me.”
No surprise, but what a blessing that God did just exactly what He
said, and this loved one has turned back to The Lord. God
watches over His word to perform it (Jeremiah 1:12).
Now, for another loved one, He has given me Isaiah 42:16 – I’ll
let you look that one up. This
is why it is so important to read the Word daily, and when you are led
to a certain scripture, read those above and below it as well.
You just can’t know when or how God will lead you to the one that
will become “alive” and powerful for you. That is what is called
taking in the whole counsel of God.
Have
a Blessed Day!
