T.O.D.A.Y.’S ENCOURAGEMENT for Aug. 13th, 2002

Good Morning!

All through the Bible, The Lord warns us time and time again; "Do not fear!" and "Be not discouraged!"  Everything that God says and does, is for a reason and a purpose.

Fear and discouragement are thieves.  They steal our joy, they steal our peace, and they steal our "faith".  That is really what the enemy is after.  In Mark 4:15, we are told that Satan comes to steal The Word out of our hearts, and the Word of God is what produces "faith" (Romans 10:17).  And without faith, it is impossible to receive anything from God. (James 1:6-7)

Most Christians know that they need to resist "fear", but they don't think about resisting "discouragement".  Yesterday, we looked at the "domino effect" that starts with you just being frustrated, which leads you to discouragement, which could eventually take you where you do not want to go.  Think about that the next time you feel "frustrated" or "discouraged"...Open your mouth and say, "No!  I am not even going there!"

This is the very reason that The Lord is all about "encouraging" one another daily!  That is exactly what T.O.D.A.Y. Ministries is all about, too! (Read Hebrews 3:13)

In the Amplified Bible, Romans 15:5 tell us that God gives us the power of patient endurance (steadfastness) and supplies us with ENCOURAGEMENT!  Now, that’s.... Good News!!!!!
