T.O.D.A.Y.’S ENCOURAGEMENT for Apr.16th, 2002

T.O.D.A.Y. Ministries

Good Morning!

It is a good thing to give thanks unto The Lord!  We need to start everyday off with "His praises on our lips" instead of "our problems on our minds".  And all the people said...

I can see right now that we are going to have fun in The Word today.  What a blessing to know that we serve a God that wants us to enjoy life!  And He has made it so simple and easy for us.  We are the ones who have made it difficult and hard.  But all of that is changing.  Right?  We have been learning that " Simple is Good ", and we are asking The Lord to show us how to simplify our lives and allowing Him to make the necessary changes in us so that we can live free from the stress that is in the world. Stress is not part of our inheritance!

In the sixth chapter of Matthew, Jesus gave us some very simple instructions.  None of them are hard to understand, and they are not hard to do.  In v.33, He even tells us what to do first!  (How hard is that?)  Don't get mad at me, I need to be reminded of these things myself!

There may be someone who is reading this that may not be familiar with that scripture.  So, Matthew 6:33 says "Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you" (these "things" being all of the necessities of life).  Notice the word "added".  See, God is all about "adding and multiplying", Not  "subtracting and dividing".  He has always wanted INCREASE for His people!

The word SEEK in this scripture means to: "Aim" as in aiming an arrow at a target, it means to make it your goal, it means to "focus on"...The Kingdom of God.  Yesterday, we established from Romans 14:17 that the Kingdom of God is.... righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.  These three things are what we need to focus on and make it our goal to understand.  The word, righteousness, in this context is speaking about our personal righteousness (remember that the scripture also says to seek  "His righteousness" which we will talk about later).

Our righteousness is our right standing with God.  We are made righteous by the blood of Jesus.  We have also been made the righteousness of God (2 Corinthians 5:21).  It is so important that we know who we are in Christ.  So I am going to continue with this tomorrow.

Have a Blessed Day!          In His Love,      Luanne

We welcome your comments and prayer requests
