Morning!
Jesus
fully intended for us to "enjoy" our lives, not just when we get to
heaven, but right now while we are still on planet earth! The
"scriptures" confirm this, and I know one of the things that has
helped me to enjoy my life is when the Lord began to show me how to
"simplify" different areas of my life!
Jesus
lived a simple life....He preached a simple message...and He
prayed simple prayers! I have made it my "goal" to
learn how to live my life the way Jesus lived His life while He was here on
earth!
I
know that there are many people who have labeled The Lord as "Jesus...Man
of sorrows", but someone gave me a book that was entitled
"Jesus...Man of Joy"! When I read that book, I knew (from the
scriptures that were quoted) that Jesus did not live a
"sorrowful" life! Yes! it is true that He was full of
"sorrow" on the cross, because that is when He bore all of our
griefs and sorrows so that we would not have to bear them (Isaiah 53:4).
However, when He left this earth, He gave us two gifts...He gave us His
"peace", and He gave us His "joy" (John 14:27 and
John 15:11). No one can
give something
that they do not have!
If
you do not have "peace and joy" in your life, it is because you have
not reached out and "received" what Jesus gave you! I
encourage you to do that very thing today! If you have made Jesus the
Lord of your life, then you "qualify" to live a life full of
"peace and joy"! But, remember.....Satan comes to
"steal" your peace and joy, and one way that he does it is by
keeping your life complicated so that you will be
"stress-full" instead of being "peace-full and joy-full"!
