Good
morning readers of T.O.D.A.Y.'S
ENCOURAGEMENT!
Let me
introduce myself since Luanne
asked me to substitute for
her today. I am Nadean Woodcock,
the prayer director for
Todayministries. Luanne is
taking a much needed rest and
basking in the
Love of the Lord.
She plans to return to writing
the Encouragements.
I would
like to share a little about
myself and how I met Luanne and
how she has helped me.
I had
open heart surgery in June
of 2001 and was feeling like I
didn't have much time left of my
life to do something for the
Lord. I was wanting to know what
my purpose in life was. I had
read "The
Purpose Driven Life." I
was asking God to show me what
His purpose for me was. That
year of facing open heart
surgery and then recuperating
from the surgery was a time of
soul searching for me. I knew I
had things that needed healing
in order for me to grow in the
Lord. I had started to write
about the abuse in my childhood
that turned into three poems. I
kept on writing poems and shared
them with family and friends.
Then I
met Luanne in the summer of 2002
in a
game chat room
on the Internet. I noticed when
Todayministries, (Luanne) came
into the game chat room,
everyone seemed to know who she
was. I asked her if she was a
Minister and she said yes.
Luanne told me she had a Word
for me from the Lord and asked
me if it was ok to give it to
me. I was so caught by surprise
but eager to hear what the Lord
had to say to me. The Lord said
to me, through Luanne, "That
He would use my past hurts to
help other "hurting women!" I
told Luanne that I didn't feel
strong enough spiritually to
help hurting women. She said it
wouldn't be by my power.
We stayed
in touch through instant
messages and I asked for her
Encouragements. Luanne kept
feeding me the
word of God
and I started learning more and
more about how much God loves
me. For years I didn't think God
loved me because of the abuse I
went through. I didn't feel
worthy to be loved.
In 2006
Luanne encouraged me to start
sending the "God Inspired Poems
For Today" out on the Internet,
to a list of people that
requested them, after letting
them know I would be doing this.
The list
of readers has grown and I
believe that I have also grown
through the teaching and
mentoring of Luanne. She has
shown me the truths of the Bible
and how to apply them in my
life.
Since
then, I have been invited to go
into a jail in Washington State
where I used to live, and visit
the God Pod, which is for a
group of women inmates that have
requested to be in that cell and
where they are taught the
Bible. I have been there three
times now and have had a chance
to share some of the poetry and
give my testimony and pray with
"hurting women!" Just what the
Lord God Almighty said I would
be doing! God is awesome!
Jeremiah 29:11.....God
has a beautiful plan and
"purpose" for YOUR life!
