Proverbs
4: 20 - 27 continues ~~~~
Yesterday,
I started expounding on verse 24, and I want to repeat what it says ~~~
"Put away from you false and dishonest speech, and willful and contrary
speech put far from you". We talked about the first part of that
verse, so now let's look at the rest of it . . . "willful and contrary
speech". That just simply means that we should never be speaking
"contrary" to the Word of God! However, if you don't KNOW what
God's Word says or doesn't say, then you won't know if you are speaking
contrary to His Word! Hence . . . the importance of getting into His
Word for yourself and finding out what He "says"! This is
"vital" to your health, and anything else that you need
in order to live the kind of abundant life that Jesus died for to give
you!
So,
I am going to "bottom line" verse 24 by putting it into very plain
and simple words ~~~~ If you need "healing" or just want to know how
to STAY healed and healthy, consider the instructions that are in this verse .
. . i.e. ~~~ make sure that you are always "truthful", never
"deceitful" (by just "implying" thinking that you are not
"lying") . . . come on now! Walk in "integrity",
which lets people know that they can trust you to do what you say you
will do. I am going to have to stop and share what The Lord has
shown me about this "integrity" principle ~~~~ if a person does not
always walk in "integrity", then they are going to have a hard time
putting their faith in God's "integrity" . . . they will
always "wonder" if God will really DO what He says He will do!
Now, back to the instructions in verse 24 ~~~~ don't speak
"contrary" to God's Word! In other words (no pun
intended), instead of speaking what your mind, will and emotions are telling
you to say about your body (which would be "willful speech") . . .
SPEAK GOD'S WORD OVER YOUR BODY! What does He have to say about it? I
am going to share a song with you, and if you will "sing" it,
or just "say" it out loud . . . you will be speaking over your
body what God says about it ~~~~~
