T.O.D.A.Y.'S  ENCOURAGEMENT for May 20, 2005

Good Morning!

Today, I want to reach out to someone that is having a battle with "depression".  I realize that everyone that is reading this "encouragement" may not be having this problem, but if you will "hear" what The Lord is saying about this, then you will be able to pray for someone who is!  Also, it just might "prevent" you from having to go through such a "horrible" time.

I, personally, know about "depression".....been there, done that.  It is the "pits"!  I firmly believe that the phrase "the pits" refers to depression, because it does not come from God....but from the very "pits of hell"!  Our precious Heavenly Father never wants His children to be "depressed"!

Let me share with you what David said in Psalms 40 when he was "depressed"....

"I waited patiently for the Lord; and He inclined unto me, and heard my cry.  He brought me up out of a horrible pit"....I encourage you to read all of that scripture!  What God did for David....He will do for you, if you will do what David did and turn your thoughts toward the Lord!

If all that we have on our mind is ourselves.....that can be very "depressing"!  Think about what I am saying....if you are continually thinking about your bad situations, and your bad circumstances, and your "unpaid bills", and your "unsaved children", and all of your "aches and pains", and what someone "did to you or did not do for you", and the list goes on!  I have a tendency to get "depressed" just typing this!

My point is....You can be delivered from "depression"!  Stop thinking about yourself and your problems....cast those cares over on the Lord and start thinking about the "promises" that God has given you concerning those problems!  Start thinking about what you can do to help someone else!  You will be amazed at how "quickly" you are "lifted" up out of "the pits"!  I pray that this "message" is blessing someone!

Have a Blessed Weekend!                    In His Love, Luanne
