T.O.D.A.Y.'S  ENCOURAGEMENT for Mar. 22, 2006

We are still in 1 Corinthians 13: 4 - 8 (Amplified Bible), and we are still in verse 4.  Some of you may be thinking, "Luanne, HOW LONG are you going to stay on this subject?".....well, I guess as long as it takes for us to "get it"!    Or, until The Lord gives me another assignment!  You all may not be shouting halleluiah right now, but when you get hold of the "love commandment" and start walking in it, you will be shouting then!  Because it will set you FREE!   

Through my years in ministry, I have found out that a lot of people don't get real excited about the "Love commandment" message.  That is because our "flesh" does not want to "walk in Love"!  Our flesh wants to "walk in selfishness" (which is the exact opposite of God's kind of Love), and it screams "What about me?  What about me?"!  Of course....none of you have ever been guilty of doing that.     Well, this kid has!   And I don't want to live there anymore!  I want to "soak up" more and more revelation knowledge about God's kind of Love, so that I can love others the way HE loves me!  I am all about "being FREE" and I have found out that "dying to self" may be painful to my "flesh", but if my "flesh" has to suffer then so be it!  That is a small price to pay to have the "Love of God" operating in my life.  The Apostle Paul had this to say about it.... "I consider that the sufferings of this present life are not worth being compared with the glory that is about to be revealed to us" (Romans 8:18).  Jesus had this to say about it....."If anyone wants to follow me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily" (Luke 9:23).  We have a "cross" to bear on a daily basis, and that "cross" is called LOVE!  That was the "cross" that Jesus had to bear!  Think about it..... Our "cross" cannot even come close to being as painful for us as it was for Jesus!
