T.O.D.A.Y.’S ENCOURAGEMENT for June 25th, 2002

Good Morning!

Well, I didn't receive an overwhelming supply of responses to yesterday's "Encouragement", but I understand.  A lot of people don't get real excited about making changes in their lives.  In fact, I want to share with you a reply I got from one of our readers...they responded with one word;   "OUCH!"  Believe it or not, this was very encouraging to me.  I could see that this person recognized the truth in this principal, and was accepting the fact that they needed it.  This tells me that this individual is wanting to grow spiritually.

Change begins on the inside of us, and then it is worked out in our behavior.  We cannot change ourselves, only God can do this, but we do have to be willing to allow Him to do this work and then cooperate with him.  This is never comfortable to our "flesh" (our soulish area).  The "soul" is made up our mind, will, and emotions; what we think, want, and feel.  We "think" that we know what we "want", and we "feel" like we ought to have
it.  Come on now, let's be honest with ourselves, this is the way babies behave.

I want to grow up spiritually, and I believe you do too, so stay teachable and together we can learn how "to be all that God wants us to be".  We will talk about that tomorrow.
