T.O.D.A.Y.’S ENCOURAGEMENT for June 14th, 2002

Good Morning!

All through the Bible, The Lord warns us time and time again; "Do not fear!" and "Do not be discouraged!"  Everything that God says and does, is for a reason and a purpose.

Fear and discouragement are thieves!  They steal our joy, they steal our peace, and more importantly, they steal our "faith"!  That is really what the enemy is after.  In Mark 4:15, we are told that Satan comes to steal the Word out of our hearts.  If we have the Word of God in our hearts, then we have faith in our hearts.  Without faith, it is impossible for us to receive anything from God.

Most Christians know that they need to resist the spirit of fear, but they don't think about resisting discouragement.  Yesterday, we looked at the "domino effect" that starts with just being frustrated!  Remember, the word frustration is also defined as discouragement. It could eventually take you where you do not want to go.  Think about it the next time you begin to feel all frustrated and/or discouraged.  Open your mouth and say, "No!  I am not even going there!"

This is the very reason that The Lord is all about "encouraging one another daily while it is called Today".  That is exactly what T.O.D.A.Y. Ministries is all about, too!  (Read Hebrews 3:13).

In the Amplified Bible, Romans 15:5 tells us that God gives us the power of patient endurance (steadfastness) and supplies us with ENCOURAGEMENT!  Now, that's Good News!!
