T.O.D.A.Y.'S ENCOURAGEMENT for July 01, 2008
T.O.D.A.Y.
Ministries
14745 Merrilltown #1611 Austin TX 78728 Good Morning!
In
yesterday's Encouragement, I brought out the fact that even though God's
COVENANT with us and His LOVE for us are
both "unconditional" . . . His COVENANT blessings do
require us to meet certain conditions! He has done it this way because
He loves us SO much, that in His "wisdom" He has placed these
"conditions" there for our "benefit" and for our
"protection"! He never intended for them to be a
"legalistic rule" for us to try to keep in our own strength!
He knew that we would have to totally "lean upon Him" and His
written Word to help us meet those "conditions"! You
will recognize this more as we get in to the "promises" and look at
the "conditions" that are involved! All of His COVENANT
promises will tell you that IF you do "this", then He will do
"that'!
For
example . . . He has given us a COVENANT "promise" to keep us in
perfect Peace IF our mind is stayed upon Him (Isaiah 26:3) . . . I hope you
will read that from the Amplified Bible. How can we do this? How can
we keep our minds "stayed" upon the Lord when we have so many things
that we have to do and think about each day! The answer is . . . get Him
and His Word involved in every thing that you do! Thank Him for
"helping" you do what you need to do . . . remind yourself that His
Word says that He is a "very present help in time of need" and speak
that out of your mouth! You can be including the Lord in your thoughts
all day long just by "thanking" Him for every good thing
that happens to you, and by calling upon His "name" whenever bad
situations come your way! If you are going to work or somewhere
else . . . thank Him for your "protection" that He has promised you!
If you are caught in traffic and having to wait and are getting
"irritated" . . . think about His Word that says that "He who WAITS
upon The Lord shall renew their strength". When you spend time
in God's Word and know what it says . . . then you can recall a
"scripture" that will apply to any situation that you are in . . .
think about that scripture and that will "keep your mind stayed upon
Him"! This is why it is so important for us to KNOW what God's written
Word says . . . it will override the other thoughts that come to our mind that
would steal our "Peace"! Now can you see why The Lord placed
the "condition" on that promise of perfect peace? It will
protect you from all of the thoughts that the enemy would put in your mind to
steal your peace!
Yes!
You CAN keep your mind stayed upon Him and His Word, but you cannot do it in
your own strength . . . you need His "help". That is exactly
what He wants you to know! You have to "choose" to ask Him for
His help, and then you have to "lean" upon Him to receive that help.
He will never fail to give you the help that you need when you make that
"choice'! I am reminded of a chorus to a song that I hope you will
sing every day ~~~~~
I
NEED YOU, LORD I NEED YOU . . . EVERY HOUR I NEED YOU!
BLESS
ME NOW, SWEET JESUS, AS I COME TO YOU!
I
will be sharing about other COVENANT promises of God that have those
"protective" conditions attached to them, so stay tuned in ~~~~~
Remember, no Encouragement Wednesday . . . see you Thursday!
Have
a Blessed Day!! (Keep your mind stayed
upon Him!) In His Love, Luanne
