T.O.D.A.Y.'S ENCOURAGEMENT for July 14, 2005

Good
Morning!
So
many times we miss out on the "blessings" that God has for us,
simply because we are waiting for our "circumstances" to change,
and/or we are waiting for other people to change. We say, "Oh, if
God would just change my circumstances, or my husband, or my children, or my
boss".... and the list goes on!
You
know what? Sometimes, the solution may depend on whether or not we
are willing to "change"! Maybe we need to change our
"attitudes" or our "mind-set"! I am reminded of the
man in the 5th chapter of the Gospel of John, and I am going to
"paraphrase" this ~~~Here is a man that had been in a bad situation
for thirty-eight years. When Jesus asked him if he wanted his
"circumstances" to change...the man could only "whine"
about the fact that no one would do what he wanted them to do!
Jesus
did not say, "okay, wait a sec, and let me see if I can get somebody else
to help you change your situation". No! He said to the
man..."You can change that situation
yourself"...just make a decision to "rise up out of it"!
He
was telling the man that he did not have to wait on other people to change his
situation, and in fact, that he did not even have to wait for the situation in
the "pool of water" to change! All he needed to do was to
"decide" to change his own mind about whether or not he wanted to stay
there or get up and "get on with his life"!
Jesus gave the man a very
"simple" solution to his problem!
Some
of you may not understand my "paraphrase", so I encourage you to
read these verses for yourself, and I believe that the Holy Spirit will
"reveal" the same message to you. John 5:1 - 8
You can change your
"situation", if you are willing to "change" your attitude
about your situation!
