Good
Morning!
I
have been using Hebrews 11:1 to help us understand more about the
"two" very important words that are in that verse of
scripture....FAITH and HOPE. The Lord wants us to see what
"Faith" is, and what it is not! He also wants us
to see what "Hope" is and what it is not!
We
have already talked about what "Faith" is...it is just
"simply" trusting God to do what He said He would
do (you may want to refer back to some of the previous
encouragements that talk about TRUST). Now, let's talk about what
"faith" is not.
Faith
is not "hoping"....it only gives substance to what we
are "hoping" for!
So,
keeping that in mind...Let's look at what "hope" is,
and what it is not! Long story short....Hope is "joyful
expectation", it is not "wishing"! So then, FAITH
can only bring substance to what we are "expecting" to happen....not
what we are "wishing" would happen! Can you see this?
The Lord is trying to help us see the "simplicity" of Hebrews 11:1
and that is this~~~~If you will totally "trust" God to do what
He said He would do, and will "focus" on the things that you are expecting
Him to do (which are those things "not seen" )...then He
can change those things which "are seen"! I
encourage you to read Hebrews 11:1 again and think about what The
Lord has revealed to us about that verse of scripture.
Some
of you may be thinking...."I have heard the "message of Faith"
many times, so I don't need this teaching". Well, I have
heard the "message of Faith" many times, myself, but I want to
know "more" about it, because it takes really knowing
what "faith" is, in order to please God (Hebrews 11:6). I want to
"please" God, so I am going to stay "teachable"! Every
time I hear another message about "faith", I learn more than I
thought I knew!
I
have talked about what "faith" needs to work with (which is
our "expectations"), but tomorrow I am going to talk about
"how" Faith works! I know that some of you already know what I
am going to say!
