Good Morning!

time to "welcome" our new

ENCOURAGEMENTS! Thank you for
your interest and may The Lord
richly bless you and yours for
taking time to read them! I
pray that they will enrich and
strengthen your daily walk with
our Lord! Please feel free to
share them with your family and
friends!
Today, I want to
continue talking about the
COVENANT promises that God has
made available to us. First of
all, the only reason that we have
this COVENANT with God is
because of what JESUS did on the
cross...not because of anything
WE did to deserve it! However,
there is something that we have
to do in order to enter in to
that COVENANT....We have to
"believe and receive" what Jesus
did for us! The COVENANT has
been "cut" for us, whether we
believe it or not, but we have a
part to play in order to
"receive" the blessings and
promises that are included in
it! Allow me to explain and
make that "simple". The
COVENANT of God with us, is
based upon His LOVE for us! I
want you to stop and think about
what I am going to say....John
3:16 does not 'just' say that
God loved us and sent His Son to
die for us. Hold on, let me
finish! You can read that
scripture for yourself, but it
says..."For God SO loved
the world that He GAVE....and
you know the rest of that
scripture. My point is that
there are some "key" words in
that scripture....SO loved,
and GAVE! The words SO
loved, defines the kind of
"love" that God is, and has shed
abroad in our hearts by the Holy
Spirit! It is AGAPE love...the
"ultimate" kind of love..it is
an "unconditional" love...the
kind of love that we are
supposed to love others with!
God loved you with this kind of
love before you were ever
born..so where do we get this
idea that we can DO something
that would get God to love us
more, or that we could DO
something that would cause God
to NOT love us? If He loved us
"before" we ever did something
"right", then that proves that
His LOVE for us is a steadfast
and "unconditional" LOVE!
I believe that
the Holy Spirit has used all of
the above to lay a foundation
for what He has to say about the
"blessings and promises"
that God's COVENANT has made
available to us. His LOVE is
"unconditional", and His
COVENANT is "unconditional" on
our part. However, His COVENANT
blessings and promises ARE
"conditional". By that, I mean
that we have something to do in
order to "receive" them! I am
going somewhere with this, so
stay with me....I can't put it
all in just one
"Encouragement"!
